Community standing

What is reputation?

Reputation (rep) is a member's long-term community score. It reflects how helpful and accurate someone has been over time. It is separate from a sale's confidence score: reputation may inform confidence, but confidence never increases reputation.

How you earn reputation

  • Small credit for proximity-backed actions, limited to 20 awarded points per rolling seven days by default.
  • Larger credit when hosted sales, contributions, reports, or status observations are later verified.
  • Double outcome credit for approved help on sales with sparse evidence or newer hosts.
  • Evidence maturity advances only from reviewed or corroborated outcomes, not raw activity.

Why it matters

  • Evidence weight: established, accurate contributors can provide more persuasive nearby status evidence, within configured caps.
  • Host credibility: the creator's rep appears on each sale so you can see who is behind the listing.
  • Messaging: confirmed accounts can message a nearby host. Rate limits keep spam down; paid plans will raise those caps later.
  • Verified Host badge: earned by hosts with a sustained record of accurate listings and positive community outcomes.

Fair play

Every scored event has a stable source, policy version, and audit record. Repeating the same action cannot create more credit, the rolling action allowance slows farming without imposing a lifetime ceiling, and overturned outcomes are reversed without deleting the original chain of custody. Confirmed repeat abuse can reduce weight or pause privileges.
